ABOUT BARC

012The Benevolent Animal Rescue Committee's mission is to control the dog and cat population and find the best new home possible for abandoned pets. Our rescued dogs and cats include strays, pets turned over to us by their owners, and some that we rescue from city and county shelters. We alter every dog and cat BEFORE they can be adopted.

We keep every animal until successfully placed. We take back our adopted pets for their entire lifetime. We have a network of volunteers and foster homes that help us reach our goals daily. Although we are a small group, we rescue, alter, and find loving homes for about 1800 dogs and cats each year.

Potential adopters MUST make an appointment to view adoptable pets.

We are excited to be able to offer potential adopters a place to come and meet our pets.

You can call 951-845-1513 for an appointment. We have two facilities where we shelter our animals. We are very happy that we will now be able to help many more homeless pets find loving and permanent homes.

Some of our donation funds help limited income pet owners cover the cost of spay or neuter procedures on their family pets. Most of donations are raised at our weekly adoption show held at Petco in Redlands every Saturday.

HISTORY

BARC was founded in 1992. We are a 501(c)3 corporation. All donations, adoption fees, donated items, etc. are tax deductible. We expanded in 2005 and began operating a boarding kennel to raise more funds to help even more homeless animals and to promote spaying and neutering in the Inland Empire.

BARC merged with Bear Mountain Dog Rescue in January 2006. Our parent company is The OakTree Foundation.

In June 2006 we opened the BARC Ranch!! We are purchasing 1.5 acres in Cherry Valley. While we are no longer boarding, we may take special cases, such as long term boarding, doggy daycare and BARC supporters and adopters needing temporary care for their pets. You can call 951-845-1513 to inquire about boarding. We are excited to be able to offer potential adopters a place to come and meet our pets (by appointment only please). We are very happy that we will now be able to help many more homeless pets find loving and permanent homes.
